Individual v Group Coaching

While often determined by circumstance, there are particular advantages to individual and group coaching.

Key factors are reviewed below.

Individual Coaching

Total Privacy

Whether for convenience or comfort (in not being required to practice in front of colleagues), the privacy of one-on-one coaching enables total focus on individual needs.

Maximum Intensity

In contrast to group coaching (where participants take turns at simulated interviews or presentations), individual coaching provides the opportunity for continuous practice and review. For some, this speeds the skills development process.

Absolute Confidentiality

Limiting the participating parties to the client and coach overcomes any risk of confidentiality being compromised

Group Coaching

Shared  Experience

In large and small organisations, group learning affords shared experiences supporting a sense of equality.

Mutual Support

Experience shows even the most fiercely competitive participants to assist and encourage each other in group sessions.

Maximum Economy

Group sessions allow up to six participants to work with one coach at the one time.

In both individual and group coaching, the use of video recording and review has been shown to accelerate learning as well as providing participants with a benchmark of their personal performance on DVD.
